The main conference venue will be the Friends’ Meeting House in Manchester city centre, located at 6 Mount Street. It is situated directly behind the Manchester Central Library, steps from the St. Peter’s Square tram stop, and just across the street from the historic Midland Hotel–all of which occupy the former site of Peterloo.
Delegates will be responsible for finding their own accommodation, and we recommend booking early. Hotels in the nearest proximity to the main conference venue are the Radisson Blu Edwardian, the Midland Hotel, the Premier Inn Manchester Central, the Principal Hotel, and the Princess Street Hotel. Jury’s Inn is a 5- to 7-minute walk from the main venue; we’ll circulate to delegates a discount code for the Jury’s Inn once abstracts are in. Just a bit further away (10 minutes and very close to the Piccadilly train station) is Abode Hotel. Among these, the Princess Street Hotel, the Premier Inn, and Jury’s Inn are typically the most economical.
Conference delegates will find that Manchester is easy to access by train or by air. Manchester International Airport (MAN) has direct flights to/from Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Atlanta, Houston, and all the major European cities. Manchester’s Piccadilly train station (with direct trains leaving every 20 minutes to/from London Euston and points elsewhere) is a 10-minute walk (or two tram stops) from the conference site.
There are so many trains to Manchester–all of them dog-friendly. Manchester’s Piccadilly Station (pictured above) is a 10-minute walk from the main conference venue.
